The Non-Compulsory Yet Obligatory End Of Year Post.

Yes, yes, I know. It isn’t the 31st just yet but I thought I’d get in early. If you have learnt anything about me in the last nine months that I’ve been blogging, you would know I’m not so great at making deadline commitments.

First of all, I’d like to say a big thank you to all of you who have read, liked and followed my mad ramblings this year. I am afraid to say that, like 99.99% of human beings, I have a need, however subdued, to know that my work is appreciated or at least acknowledged. And, you know, it’s a two way street.

The amazing blogs I’ve discovered, written by some of the most talented writers I have come across, serve as an inspiration and provide hope that one day, with enough practice, my words may be ready to see the light of day and not just the dark corners of the bottom draw or the eerie glow of the computer screen. I feel that I have learnt so much since I started this blog in March.

After years of fluffing around, procrastinating and generally finding “better” things to do, I sat down and wrote. Nearly every day, with a few exceptions. I’m only human after all. And while I may not have made huge progress on the manuscript which I set out to document in this blog in the past four months, its prequel, which until recently had sat abandoned, half written and in tatters, has come ahead in leaps and bounds. I attribute this to the blog which encourages me to write by its very existence, and theblogs of others whose tips, ideas, theories and thoughts inspire me to write and write and write until suddenly, ten hours have passed and I did not note a single one of them.

So, thank you all and a very happy New Year. I’ll see you in 2013!!
