The bars that confine you.

Sometimes, that stats bar can imprison you. When it falls, so do your hopes. How will I ever be taken seriously as a writer when no one even bothers to read my blog, you ask yourself. The truth is however, that as much as you would like it to matter whether people are reading and engaged with your blog or not, you’d like them to. First and foremost you need to write for yourself and while blogging is an important way to practice and connect with other writers in the end what matters is your main writing whether that’s fiction, journalism or academic writing, that is what must come first. To be honest, I’m writing this post to tell myself more than you and to remind myself that it is the act of writing that matters and the reception is, for the moment, secondary to that.
