Hello friends. Today I’m going to share with you the WIPpet as usual, outline my NaNo plans and save the ROW80 update for Sunday. 🙂
First, if you have been a part of the internet writing community for any time at all you will have heard about National Novel Writing Month which takes place each November. I participated for the first time last year and didn’t finish. This year I intend to participate again but not quite exactly according to the rules. If you want to be my writing buddy, you can find my profile here. 🙂
My plan is to work on all three volumes of Chronicles of Anrien: edit Book 2, Queen of Hearts, continue writing the ‘Book 1’/prequel that I started for NaNoWriMo last year, Enarenal, and also continue Book 3, Rebellion Rising which has been sitting half completed for over 18 months. So yeah, we’ll see how we go. 🙂
As always, WIPpet Wednesday is hosted by the gracious K.L. Schwengel. Today’s excerpt carries on from the last few weeks Part 1 Part 2. <– you will need to read these to understand today’s excerpt. 29 words + 1 for luck (and the first sentence for continuity.)
Tasyn’s interest was piqued, ‘And who is that exactly?’
‘The grandson of Anjez and Karavere.’ Tekmal paused, ‘You could be King of Anrien.’
Tasyn wanted to deny Tekmal’s suggestion but in his heart he knew it to be true.
Ooh, interesting revelation! Is Tasyn already aware of his ancestry or is this completely new to him?
He sought of had an idea but it doesn’t really matter to him and he’s denied it a lot so that people won’t use him to gain their own ends.
Cue the music!! Here comes the King!!
Nice excerpt/revelation. Now…just what exactly will he do with that information. Hmmm…
50k words is 50k words. So long as it motivates you to write, I think that’s the goal.
I agree. People have written collections of interconnected short stories to win, and continuing an established work is actually allowed by the official rules now (if not necessarily encouraged). I don’t think you’re cheating. 🙂
Thanks for the support 🙂 I think I will be more motivated this time round.
Wow! That was certainly a big revelation. I wonder how Tasyn will respond.
I added you as a NaNo buddy. Here’s to 50k words!
Yay buddies! 🙂 Tasyn’s reaction will certainly be interesting… 🙂
Why do I get the feeling that Tasyn doesn’t want to be king? Nice excerpt. 🙂
Thanks 🙂
It’s good to be the King…or maybe not…
Very interesting revelation, and what potential for complications!
I’ll pop right over and add you as a friend. My view on NaNo or any writing challenge is that it ought to serve your personal goals, not have you scrambling to meet a slew ot requirements that don’t, Go ahead, and do it your own way, and get something from the experience that will benefit you…
May you have oodles of fun along the way! =D
