April Wrap Up

This is the first time I’ve actually made a set of monthly writing goals so I loved seeing how much I’d accomplished in the month.

I was participating in Camp NaNoWriMo so I had some pretty lofty goals. I finished about 1,800 words shy of my goal which is sort of disappointing but I have 18,000 more words now than at the start of the month, so that’s a win.

I had seven goals at the beginning of the month which quickly climbed to eight.

  1. Finish current rewrites on WIP (9 scenes)
  2. Outline WIP
  3. Participate in 3 #1linewed
  4. Redesign blog
  5. Create logo
  6. Read two books
  7. 30,000 20,000 words for Camp NaNoWriMo
  8. Edit down blog archives

The results are in!

I didn’t finish the whole 9 scenes as I was ready to outline and rewrite so those scenes will still be waiting for me to deal with them sometime down the line. I had to readjust my Camp NaNoWriMo goal but I’m still happy with where I’ve ended up. Unlike last year, this year’s Camp NaNo experience was pretty positive! 🙂

On the social media side of things, I managed to particpate in 3 #1linewed which is basically WIPpet Wednesday for instagram. I love the challenge of finding a graphic to underscore my words each week. I’ve also redesigned my blog, as you’ll be able to see, and I’ve started to cull curate my blog archives. My logo is drafted but waiting on time to edit it up properly. I hope to reveal it to you soon. 😀

This month, I read one and half books – Sarina Langer‘s Rise of the Sparrows and Kiersten White’s And I Rise. Hopefully, May will be a more successful reading month!

Do you set out monthly writing goals?

How did you go with them this month?
