June’s done. The year’s half over. Get keen though, because it’s wrap-up season!
June has been such a good reading month for me and I hit my writing goal by the middle of the month (which makes the fact that I spent all of my usual big writing day on Wednesday in a total slump of tiredness and sickness incubation a little easier to justify).
I only set four goals this month – to read two books, add 15k to my WIP, blog once a week, and post to Instagram at least 15 times. I managed to hit all of these goals, on top of finishing my coursework for uni so I’m quite chuffed. 🙂
I finished 4 books this month which is a 5th of my yearly target! I decided to only try to read 20 books this year because last year I read so little and this year I was studying as well but not to brag, so far I’m smashing it! I’m really glad because I’m finally getting through the mountain of books I purchased when I worked at a bookstore. (Not than any of this month’s were from that pile…
If I had to rank this month’s reads from favourite to least favourite (which is Hard because I enjoyed them all) it would look like this:
- A Gathering of Shadows | V. E. Schwab
- Ink and Bone | Rachel Caine | Review
- Snow Like Ashes | Sara Raasch | Review
- Exit West | Mohsin Hamid
I hit my goal of adding 15k to Arrowsong last week and the chapters that had been giving me trouble are finally starting to play ball. This means I have a lot more to send to my CPs as soon as they’re ready to receive it. 🙂 It also means I’ve had time to actually hold up my end of the bargain and give them some feedback too. 🙂
I’m back to blogging regularly and while this started out as a writing blog when I first brought it to life, there’s now definitely more of a reading lean to it. I’m really enjoying doing the reviews and the booktags etc. but I’m open to feedback. After all, this blog is as much for you guys as it is for me so I’d love to know what you want to read! 🙂
