When I moved to the UK last January, I determined I would not buy any books because I didn’t know how stable I’d be, whether I’d be moving every few months, or even weeks. Books just aren’t practical when your entire life is in a backpack. Alas, I am a fool. A fool who has more than forty books. Oops.
Karma’s going to get me when I try to ship them all home, even if, as planned, I engage in a Hunger Games style cull to cut my collection down to none but the most precious. We’ll see how that goes…
My main goal for this year is to read the books I’ve bought and haven’t read yet.
My secondary goal is to finish series I started years ago and never got around to finishing, for whatever reason.
I’d like to read more non-fiction too. This is a goal for me every year, so the first book I read of the year is usually non-fiction and then I ignore them the rest of the year.
Me last Sept: I’m only in the UK for a year. I’m not going to buy any books.
Reality: OO CHEAP BOOKS ITS ONLY ONE POUND I NEED IT.
I guess my goal is to read faster than I buy books so that I can sell them off? Or give them away? =/
😭 too real! But where are you finding books for only £1???
